The Douglas Hyde Gallery is very pleased to share details of this upcoming conversation between artist Isabel Nolan and writer Martin Herbert on the occasion of Nolan's current solo exhibition Calling on Gravity.

Comprising suspended and floor-based sculptures, portrait paintings, drawings, photographs and a rug, the show is made up of mostly new works which unsettle simple certainties such as up and down, high and low through a material exploration of metaphor and how we bring the world into meaning.

Martin Herbert is a writer and critic living in Berlin. He is associate editor of ArtReview and writes for many international art journals. Recent publications include, Tell Them I Said No, (2016), The Uncertainty Principle (2014) and Mark Wallinger (2011).

Admission is free but booking is essential, please reserve a place here.
