Claude Cahun
25 January - 06 March 2008
'Claude Cahun' was the pseudonym of Lucy Schwob, who lived in Jersey with her stepsister Suzanne Malherbe from 1937 until her death in 1954. She created a substantial body of photographic work, exploring her identity in an extraordinary series of self-portraits. Cahun's images were rediscovered in the 1990's, and they are now considered to be an important part of the Surrealist movement.
