The Tree, the last in the ‘Leaves and Papers’ series, is an essay on quietness and withdrawal. It makes reference to Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Chinese and Japanese poets and thinkers, the painter Albert York, the writer Wendell Berry, and the photographer Robert Adams (who has twice exhibited with us).
It also marks the departure, from the Douglas Hyde Gallery, of our longstanding Director, John Hutchinson.
