Published in 2008, The Bridge explores ideas and themes that have already been touched upon in previous Douglas Hyde Gallery publications, including the bread and butter stone, Patmos, and 33 Happy Moments. But although it is not meant to be conclusive, The Bridge is a full reflection of the thoughts and feelings that have formed the background to the choice of exhibitions for the Gallery's recent exhibition programme.
The Bridge is a set of notes, perceptions, and speculations that are grouped into a quaternity of themes: Beauty, Darkness, Uncertainty, and Friendship. The text, by John Hutchinson, is punctuated by relating images.
Dimensions: 184mm x 108mm. 108 pages, 4 colour plates. Hardback, embossed title on spine. Concept by John Hutchinson; layout and production by Robin Watkins.
